As a Ballroom & Latin Dance Instructor since 2002, I believe passionately in arts education and the countless physical, social and emotional benefits of social dancing. This program began in 2019 with a SU-CASA Grant Award from the Bronx Council on the Arts, where I had the opportunity to work exclusively with older adults. I've seen the health and emotional benefits that social dance brings to people of ages but have also seen the disparities in bringing the benefits of this sport to adults 55+ of all income levels. Silver Shoes is dedicated to encouraging Ballroom & Latin Dance as a viable and fun preventative care option for older adults. We strive to build healthier, stronger communities... one dance at a time. :-)
